Osmosis and diffusion are essential concepts in understanding how cells survive. The exchange between water and solutes is visually observed in this three part lab that takes NO more than two class periods to complete. Students will utilize starch and glucose solutions with dialysis tubing to model the cell membrane and observe the processes of osmosis & diffusion. This laboratory activity is ideal for high school biology classes of all levels. Designed for 24 students working in six groups of four.
